Fogy Himalayas were standing gently like the porters blanketed with a thin white layer of snow at crest. Lovely orchards were giving a serene yet smiling expression, and the timber and oak woods were like calling to make a way through. Medieval structures look marvelous under dust-free clear sky, while the shop windows spill their light on spacious sidewalks. Shimla was like a gently sparkling jewel enjoying the winter cold in its own way, when I approached there last weekend.
One of the most sought after hill stations in North India, Shimla promises of a delightful winter getaway with an intoxicating mix of old-world traditions and contemporary style. The lovely hill town serves as the capital of Himachal Pradesh, and is far-famed for its unparalleled glittering beauty. Impressive hills and serene forests make it a nature-lover’s delight, while the glorious colonial structures, interesting arts & cultures and salubrious weather give it the status of being a thriving hotspot for culture-enthusiasts. What I love the most about this town is that it’s elegant, safe and spacious to wander around. You can have a great time, even meandering aimlessly through its streets. After every hundred meters or so, you get to explore the substantiation of some grand monuments and colonial architectures. Interesting fairs & festivals that the city celebrates are also among the main highlights of a Shimla tour. During winter holiday season, you can witness various colorful performances of folk dancers and other activities pertaining to the city’s rich rustic traditions.
Shimla sightseeing includes several naturally rich sites as well as the places of historical importance. For me, the most enticing attractions are the Jakhu Temple, Viceregal Lodge, the Mall Road and the Himalayan Nature Park. Since a Shimla tour package can easily be booked by travel agency, planning for Shimla tour has got just easier.
