Bangkok Off The Tourist Trail: 5 Unusual Attractions To Visit In Bangkok

Bangkok may be synonymous with markets, malls and theatres. There are those clichéd skyscrapers and temples like Wat Pho, and several other Buddhist temples. And there are some spicy restaurants and an assortment of night clubs. But off the beaten track, there are some unusual attractions which you may love to check out.

If you have already seen most of the regular stuffs or if you are looking for something outlandish with your Thailand tourism, then here are 5 unusual Bangkok attractions which should satisfy you:

i. Erawan Museum: Erawan Museum stands out from the outside. The moment you reach this region, you will be greeted by the sight of a colossal statue of a 3-headed statue of an elephant. It has also become a sort of a symbol for Bangkok tourism and defies the cliché to offer you something unique. The museum, from inside, is very grandiose with lots of interesting sections to keep you engrossed.

ii. Forensic Museum: This is another museum which would leave you thrilled and even in sweat. Located opposite Grand Palace, it is a museum which stocks dead bodies, corpses and forensic bodies of fetuses. It is quite scary on the onset. But you will get an interesting insight into some medical files.
iii. Papaya Vintage Shop: if you are in the mood to shop and are looking for something refreshing, then head over to the Papaya Vintage Shop at Ladprao near Chatuchak! This store has a hearty collection of items which were once very popular but have faded in obsolescence after arrival of the modern artifacts.

iv. Scala Cinema: You can also include Scala Cinema in your Thailand tour package. This cinema hall in Siam Square is best known for its retro effects and designs.

v. Rod Fai Market: The uniqueness of this market lies in the fact that there are no stalls or stores or shops out here. Vendors scatter their items on the ground and you have to pick them up.
