Baga Beach, Goa: How to reach and things to do at Baga Beach

Baga Beach is among the finest and most popular of Goa beaches. It is relatively small in size and hence has a lively atmosphere. It lies midway between its neighbors Calangute Beach and Candolim Beach. Anjuna Beach, lying to the north, is another of its famous cousin. One of the reasons why Baga finds mention in every Goa package is that it is a hub for water sports. So, if you are one of those adventure-loving tourists who are hankering for wind surfing or parasailing, then this beach is the one for you.

How to reach Baga Beach: Baga Beach is easily reachable through any cab or car. It is at a short distance of 16 km from the capital town of Panaji. So, if you are stationed at Panaji, you can reach Baga in around 25 minutes or so. Thivim is the nearest railway station and Dabolim Airport is the nearest airport.

Things to do at Baga Beach: There are plenty of things one can do at this place. It is your quintessential sunny beach which offers you everything you can ask for. Warm water, plenty of sand and adequate amounts of sand to dig your feet into! Just lie on the beach and bathe under the sun, or slip inside the ocean and play with the waves!

One of the greatest attractions at Baga is the onshore sporting activity. Popular sports include parasailing, wind surfing and kite surfing. Jet Ski is another sport which you can try. Most of the sports would leave you emptier by around Rs 500-1200. If you are through with them, you can also walk over to the nearby beaches of Anjuna, Calangute or Candolim and explore those corners. It is owing to Baga’s versatile beauty and adventure sports that it is included in the programs of all major Goa packages.
