Chapora Fort: A Phenomenal and Photogenic Landmark in Goa

Chapora Fort is one of the popular attractions of Goa. This state, best known for its multifarious beaches, is also home to some fabulous and historic forts. Chapora certainly deserves your visit since it is situated near the shores and offers a breathtaking view of the horizon. When you are at this site, you would indeed feel emancipated, like a bird which was caged all these years and has suddenly found liberty.

Chapora Fort was also the point of filming of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, the cult Bollywood movie which gave a fresh dimension to ‘friendship’ and ‘love’. How to reach Chapora Fort: Chapora Fort is not remotely located but is close to Anjuna or Vagator Beach. It can be directly accessed by any vehicular mean from the town of Mapusa. When to visit Chapora: Goa, overall, has a very friendly climate. Hence, the fort is open for visitors throughout the year. Thus, you can drop by this site any time you want as your schedule permits. From the purpose of convenience, it is said that the months between October and March are the most favored ones for paying a visit to this landmark. This is the rain-free season and so the risk of slipping on weedy wet floors is very low. Traveler’s recommendation: It is strongly recommended that you visit the fort during the twilight hours. Any time between 4-7 pm would be phenomenal since you can ogle at the beauty of sunset which looks really rhapsodic from this corner.
